So, you know how toddlers like to play a game where, they say happy and you smile, they say sad and you frown . . then before you know it, all you hear is: Happy, Sad, Happy, Sad! Just remember that when you pick up this series of books.

I have to admit, I wasn't very sure about reading this series. First off, her personal website LK Rigel has a link to a page to help one understand the vocabulary used in her books. (Yes, I did use it.) Second, it's listed as a Science Fiction Fantasy . . and that has never really been my cup of tea. However, my dear friend Belinda over at The Bookish Snob is going to be doing blog tour with LK Rigel and I figured I best give it a try.

I'm glad I did. Even tho I felt a million different feelings throughout the reading of the books, it was so worth it. It's not just one person you find yourself pulling for . . it's the entire cast of characters. So, strap yourself in and take a ride into the future. Follow Char and Durga as they try to find their way through what seems to be the mess we created! Enjoy the people they pick to bring along their journey.

I picked this book up this morning. I began reading, and soon found that my Nook was permanently attached to my hand.

Who can you trust?

That is just the question Eve (Evangeline) is asking herself. Having grown up without a father, then having to live with the death of her mother. Evangeline felt alone. Then steps in her "saving grace" Sofie, well . . maybe. Meeting Sofie maybe wasn't such a great life saving event after all . . . or was it?

Off to New York to help Sofie out. Evangeline meets Sofie's "dear" friends Mortimer and Viggo, as well as the team of watch dogs. Max becomes her shadow (one I enjoyed reading about). Little did Evangeline know, helping Sofie out would have her meeting the love of her life. Oh, and his crazy girlfriend Rachel (or so Rachel thinks).

There is no way for one to pick up this book and not fall in love with the characters. This book moves along rather nicely, until you hit chapter 23. Then all the sudden . . you have stepped onto a rollercoaster. Please note, no matter how many times you hit the advance page button at the end . . no more pages will come. You just have to wait for the next book to come out. Trust me, I am waiting . . . . .

Some Girls Bite:
This one was a little slow to start for me. Maybe it had to do with all the big talk I was hearing about the series. Maybe I had my hopes set for something more. I honestly can't say. What I can say is this . . . for as slow as a start this book was for me, the ending left me wanting so much more.

Friday Night Bites:
I moved straight from the first book, into this one. The story was a drug and I was addicted. Following the story along the way, of how unfair somethings were. How life is changing not only for one person, but many of them. Reading how they are dealing with the changes. The book was finished before I knew it.

Twice Bitten:
Was there waiting for me when I finished the 2nd book. By this time, you know who you like . . you know who you don't. You feel the pull of wanting something to happen, but what pair would you have come together for that action? Who can you trust?

Hard Bitten:
Finally, to book 4. Everyone was saying . . This did not happen! I can't believe this! So, I'm reading thinking, what are these people talking about. I am enjoying the story . . yeah, then it hits. WHAT!!!! Are you kidding me!!! How can this happen??? What did we as the readers do wrong? Why must you punish us so? So, after a little reader hissy fit, I realized! Yeah, this may not be so bad. Because honestly, I was hoping for . . . .

If you wanna know, you're just going to have to pick up the series and read it for yourself. I promise you, you won't be disappointed. I am now waiting for November just to get my Merit fix!

There are a few songs that sometimes become a little painful to even listen to, hitting a little close to home I suppose? No matter the reason, I'll keep listening . . I think I'm addicted!

I'm gonna be honest here . . I was drawn to this book because the book club ladies were talking about the newest release A LOT! The newest book being #4 in the series, I couldn't just pick it up and read . . ya have to start with book one, right?

The book was a little slow to start for me. I found myself rereading sections just to make sure I was clear on what was what, who was who . . you get the picture. Once I got things settled in my head, the book picked up. However, it turned out to be a book I felt like I was reading for the simple joy of just that . . . READING! It wasn't a mad rush to the end to see whodunit. I found myself reading and smiling, enjoying the book.

Merit and Mallory, BFF's! Living together in the house Mallory inherited, didn't know how life was going to change for them . . and soon! Merit finds herself being dropped off at home, dressed NOTHING like she would ever dress . . . confused, and holding the rule book to her new life, and OH Yeah! There is bags of blood in the fridge.

Grip the pages (or the push button to flip) and take a ride. As both Merit and Mallory figure out how different life is going to be from here on out.


I'm currently reading the next installment . . so clearly I enjoyed the first!

Grab yourself a copy and settle in. (I've "heard" it's gonna get bumpy).

I completely love this book. Why? You may ask . . Well, because you get a story told by two amazing women.

To start the story off we discover that something terrible has happened, Brittany who lost her one true love has gone on to suffer even greater at the hands of a very ugly man. Deciding to fight on and hope for her own revenge one day, Brittany tries to maintain somewhat of a normal life for herself. Hard to do when things have changed so much in just ten short years. Going about her "normal" day to day routine didn't include seeing a *ghost*. (Ok, so maybe not REALLY a ghost, but . . ) Now Brittany wonders . . if she may just have a chance at that slice of happiness she was sure had withered away.

Rolling into the second part of this book . . We meet Kiara. The daughter of an Alpha, she shouldn't "want" for anything . . and she doesn't, not really. Kiara believes she has found the one, her true love. That thought in itself should make her happy, but it doesn't. Her alpha father would never approve. Seeing his daughter becoming more unhappy with each passing day, daddy dearest decides to do something about it . . . arrange a mate for her. This doesn't go over very well, and becomes a scramble to figure out a way to be with the one she loves and not her intended.

Both of the stories just pour of the pages. Emotions take over and it's hard to NOT feel what each woman is going through. You may even find yourself wanting to reach out and give a knowing squeeze.

Like a good recipe, this book has all the required ingredients and has them in the right amounts. Starting with the emotionally pull right down to the heat factor.

Perfect for a lazy afternoon, in your favorite reading spot . . sipping a tall glass of iced tea.
